3.28.2006 Blink

It happened in the blink of an eye or at least it seems that way to me. You were this tiny, small baby inside me and I waited for what seemed like forever to hold you in my arms. Then all of a sudden, you are six and growing more and more each passing day. I have watched you crawl, walk, run, get your first tooth, learn to talk, make friends...

I fear that the next six years will also happen in the blink of an eye. I am scared to blink. I want every moment back again. I want every moment in the future, twice, three times, more. To live with you in my life makes me want to keep my eyes wide open forever.

3.21.2006 Spring

Measure in tulips, in daffodils, in cherry blossoms. In lambs, in ducklings, in bunnies. In Easter, in spring break, in Mother's Day. In blustery winds, in chilly mornings, in longer days. In hidden eggs, in kites, in planting a garden. That's how I measure the season of spring.
